I found the whole experience of putting together a UWS-compliant site rewarding: the documentation was thorough, the training classes were pitched at just the right level, and actually designing and deploying the site was intuitive. After having completed my own site's design, I can now see how much forethought must have gone into making the standard general and scalable. Great job!

I have now put three websites together using the CUTW kit: the chemistry department website, the forensic science program website, and my own faculty site. I found the templates, other resources in the kit, and the training sessions to be particularly helpful in organizing my site and getting a functional navigation structure. Building a user friendly and accessible site without this help would not have been possible.

During the 2005-06 academic year, the College of Health and Human Services began a systematic review of the content of our departments websites. The “clean up the web” standards toolkit created by Dawn Truelsen proved invaluable during the process of redesigning our websites. The development of pages is made easier due to the clarity of the web layouts and style sheets. Creating, modifying, and maintaining each of the sites is a collaborative process that is ongoing.

I am very pleased with our new website and have recieved several compliments on it. I believe it projects a very professional image of our center. The process of creating it was relatively painless and often fun. It also compelled us to think critically about our vision of the center and the type of projects we would like to undertake.

The "Clean Up the Web" effort helped us to create a more clean look with less text for visitors to sift through. Our website now has a more organized look (and is more organized!) with a new, attractive banner that identifies our program while also easily identifying us as a part of CSU, Fresno. Our site is simplified with photos that speak for us. It makes sense to have a common "look" and functionality among campus websites while still maintaining an autonomous program identity. Contribute is a user-friendly program even for the technologically shy!

hi Dawn, Thanks for creating a site structure that is so easy to work with. I've been busy populating the site, and doing small updates, over the last month or so, and let me say, wow is this nice! It looks nice -- its very user friendly and easy on the eyes. Moreover, I can see how easy it is going to be to maintain. Thanks for cleaning up our web!
